Duncan: 11 Weeks Old

Wow! I'm 11 weeks old already?! And we're getting ready to say goodbye to 2011 and ring in 2012! Where did the time go? :)

This week was super fun because we had Christmas, of course (see previous post for awesome photos of yours truly), but also because my Daddy has been home since the 23rd and we've been spending so much time together. He's the BEST!!

I scored big time on Christmas day and had about a gajillion presents to open from all my friends and family. My Grandmom Debbie got me this cool outfit that I wore out on the town today:

And when you're being raised by a couple of geeks, Santa finds it necessary to bring you these mega-nerdy shoes to wear on your days out on the town:

Why I oughtta...  If I didn't like wearing them so much, I'd be really irritated about the nerdiness...

Mommy and Daddy started to move me into my crib for sleeping this week. We started the day after Christmas and I've been doing ok. I don't like to be in the crib for too long, though. I get bored by myself. So, I like to wake up Mommy & Daddy more often during the night so they can rock me back to sleep. I want to make sure they haven't forgotten that I'm all the way over in the crib now. I bet they miss me.

I am always super energized even after the shortest of naps, but for some reason, Mommy & Daddy look very tired. :)

Duncan: 10 Weeks Old

All of a sudden, I'm 10 weeks old today! And it's almost Christmas! Yay!!  :)

This week was all about getting our Christmas chores and errands done: gift shopping (mostly online, thank goodness!), signing & mailing Christmas cards, and shipping packages. How did we get all that done? Well, let's just say that I was extra helpful by being a very good baby while Mommy & Daddy did the dirty work. I know, I'm so sweet. I hope Santa noticed.  :)

This week:
-  I stayed home with just Daddy for the first time while Mommy ran
    a couple errands. Yeah, guys only!
-  I've been working very hard at tummy time:

I can hold my head up for SO long! It's awesome.

Also this week, I like to make a lot of noise when "talking" to Mommy & Daddy. I especially loved giggling up a storm when Mommy sang "The 12 Days of Christmas" to me for the first time!

Something about that song sure struck me funny.  :)

I can't wait for Christmas! I have so many presents under the tree that came from family from all over. I am so excited to see what's in them! NOT excited, however, to see what kind of goofy outfit Mommy is going to make me wear on Christmas day...

Duncan: 9 Weeks Old

I turned 9 weeks old today! And I am a pretty happy baby! I don't know who that other guy was that was fussing up a storm for 5 weeks... That wasn't me.  :)

This week:
-  I've got this routine down: eat, play, sleep, repeat.
-  I like to coo & gurgle at Mommy & Daddy A LOT.
-  I am holding my head up by myself for long periods. So strong!
-  I went to the tree farm and we got my very first Christmas tree!
-  I've been so good that Mommy was able to decorate for Christmas!
    It sure is festive in our home now!
-  I had my 2-month vaccinations & I took it like a champ! Mommy was
    a total sissy and almost cried.
-  I am 11 lbs 14 oz and 23 inches long! HUGE!

Also this week, I had a very special person visit me: my Great-Granddad, Norman Gaddis. This was his very first time visiting us in San Francisco! I cannot tell you how special he is to me and how happy I was to have him travel all the way from North Carolina to hang out with me.  :) He is an amazing person who has lived an amazing life and continues to do so. I had a wonderful week. It was a very special week for me and my family. I am so happy and smiley this week for good reason. We must be very blessed this holiday season.  :)

Duncan: 2 Months Old

Yay! I'm 2 months old today!

Turning two months sure does wonders! I am a completely different baby than the one I was just a couple weeks ago. I am so happy & smiley now! Mommy & Daddy can actually put me down in my bouncy chair and I'll sit quietly and just hang out or talk to them or smile at them. I think they like not having to hold me & bounce on the exercise ball ALL the time. I even like taking baths now! No more screaming my head off during most of my awake hours!  :)

Well... except for when Mommy thought it would be a good idea, since it's the holiday season, to make me where this stupid reindeer hat for my 2-month pictures:

Other than that little episode that wasn't my fault, I've been pretty happy these days and Mommy & I have a pretty good routine going each day. It seems to make her really happy.  :)

I'm getting big fast. Today, I weigh 11 lbs. 14 oz. and am 23 inches long. I attribute it to my love of nursing!  I must be a foodie like my Mommy.  :)

Duncan: 8 Weeks Old

I'm 8 weeks old today! It's been a busy week, too!

My Granddad Tony, Auntie Payal, and Uncle Drew came to visit! I got a lot of holding time, as you can see...  :)

Our friend, Jenn, also came to visit me this week! She brought lunch to share with Mommy and brought presents just for me! So nice! I think I like her a lot, even though I was a little fussy when she was over.  :)  And I can't wait to meet her little guy who is due to arrive any day now! We're going to be good buds.  :)

I've also had a couple VERY successful bath nights this week where I didn't cry AT ALL. I think I might be enjoying my baths now. In any case, Mommy and Daddy seem to be happy that I'm not screaming my head off during and after baths.  :)

I can't believe I'm almost 2 months old! I'm not looking forward to my 2-month vaccinations next week, though. Neither is Mommy.  :(

Well, I'm off to bed. It's been a long afternoon of fussing up a storm for Mommy and Daddy and it has worn me out!

Duncan: 7 Weeks Old

Seven weeks old today and still cute as a button! I just had a totally AWESOME week. I spent my very first Thanksgiving showing off my sweet side and my fussy side to my Uncle Trung, Auntie Heather, and cousin Logan! They made us a HUGE Thanksgiving dinner (on Sunday since they flew in on Thanksgiving day, but the actual day doesn't matter, it was an awesome meal)! Uncle & Auntie were total troopers and held me, rocked me, bounced me, & cuddled me even when I was at my worst. :) My cousin helped out just as much by singing songs to me to calm me down and reading books to me. I just love them so much and I just loved having them stay with me!

I was so sad to have my Uncle, Auntie, and cousin go that I doubled up the fussy for Mommy the next day. I was so angry at my Mommy's doctor appointment that the Doctor wanted to hold me at first while I was crying a little bit, then after not being able to console me, she handed me (screaming my head off) back to my Daddy and said to him, "You poor thing!"  :)

Duncan: 6 Weeks Old

I am getting so big!

This week:
-  I smiled for the first time! It was SO cute! (11/21/11)
    Mommy was so happy.  :)
-  I had my first ever HAPPY bath time! It was so nice (for all
    three of us!).

-  I've been enjoying more time with Daddy since he's had the entire
    Thanksgiving week off!

-  I made my very first trip to Trader Joe's w/ Mommy & Daddy!
    I got to hang out in the front pack and snoozed on the walk. :)
-  I took a (very angry) 1 hour car trip to Cupertino to have dinner with
    Andrew and Lee in their new place ! I loved hanging out with
    those guys! :) I just hate being in the car seat sometimes...

Yea, I'm still a little fussy often times, but I'm cute so it's easy for Mommy and Daddy to get over...

I think they secretly love holding & rocking me so much. :)
