Duncan: 2 Weeks Old

I'm 2 weeks old today!

I had a good week:
-  I gained 10 oz. and weighed in at 7 lbs 11 oz. at my check-up
-  I am sleeping for 4 or 5 hrs at night! (Mom & Dad are thrilled!)
-  I had my Granddad Gaddis visit & I loved meeting him!

What I love the most right now:
-  Having the hair dryer dry off my bottom at changing time. <3
-  When Daddy saves me from the Kissing Monster (i.e. Mom)

Love,
Duncan

I am getting used to:
-  nursing every 2 - 3 hours
-  sleeping in between feeding time
-  pooping & peeing (sometimes all over myself or Mommy & Daddy's
hands while they are changing me)
-  looking around my home with my big brown eyes
-  getting baths (but I still don't like them)

Milestones:
-  my umbilical cord fell off at 6 days old (10/19/11)
-  started tummy time at 6 days old (10/19/11)

Love,
Duncan

Introducing little baby Duncan William Gaddis

Born October 12, 2011 at 4:25 a.m., weighing 7 pounds 5 ounces.

He arrived with a little bit of a wait, a fair amount of labor, and a minimal amount of delivery effort... but the important thing is HE'S HERE!! We are SO enjoying the good life with this little man right now. He's what I like to call a "voracious eater" and actually allows us to sleep in between filling his cute little belly. Such a sweet little baby. Whatever we did to deserve this, I'd sure like to know so we can make sure we keep doing it.

Enjoy the pics of Duncan's first days!

Look at those lovable cheeks!
2 days old.  Going home 10/14/11
5 days old.  I nap a lot...  :)
I don't like bath time.
... but afterwards it's pretty nice...  :)
My toes... are like my Mommy's.  :)
... and I like to hold my Daddy's hands.  :)

Welcomed with so much love,

37 weeks

So... we are a little over 37 weeks.  :)

On paper, we should be happily waiting another 2.75 weeks for this little guy to arrive.  But that's just on paper...

This is what I look like today and this is probably going to be the last belly photo taken before Duncan is born. Why? Because we are currently in the early stages of labor (I will spare you the ooey, gooey details of physical signs and such...) and if things go as my OB predicts, we should be having this baby ANY DAY NOW!  Holy cow!!

I am not going to complain about Duncan's seemingly early arrival. It's been a very uncomfortable last 2 weeks!  It'll be so nice to have him here finally and to get back a little bit of my own personal comfort that I knew before I had a giant belly to lug around, swollen ankles and feet, ridiculous water retention, and carpal tunnel in my hands and wrists. Don't get me wrong - it has been a very fun pregnancy overall and I thank Duncan for being a good little fetus for 8 months! He sure kept me entertained and happy for the long haul!  I could just do without these last two weeks is all.  :)

Stay tuned for the latest! If you don't hear from us on here before the main event, you'll at least get a picture message on your phone of the little guy's first day on the planet. So wish us luck!

~ Tam

P.S.
If you find yourself antsy and/or bored while waiting for the news, feel free to go on over to our photo website and peruse some of the new albums. I've finally gotten caught up on uploading pictures. I highly recommend the Baby Shower album of photos taken by the amazing Kate Kintzel. So beautiful! :)
