Duncan: 33 Weeks Old

This little dude turned 33 weeks old (yesterday) and it's been a busy week, so we're sorry this post is a day late! He's been mostly busy with another milestone: cutting teeth! Yay! We, on the other hand, have been busy trying to keep him comfortable & happy -- which is giving us a run for our money. There is a non-stop river of drool and the teething toys are getting lots of his attention lately:

His bottom right front tooth popped through last Friday and I think the other 3 front teeth are following close behind. Poor guy! He's still playing and being mostly happy, but when he's uncomfortable, watch out! Temper, temper! See if you can spot the tiny little tooth in the photos below:

Granddad Tony came to visit this week and we had lots of fun. We love having Granddad visit as much as he does because we can both get lots of chores done while Granddad & grandson play together. ;)

Duncan loves to stand and play against the couch. This week, he's figured out that if he just pushes off and lets himself free-fall backwards from the couch, someone will always be there behind him to catch him in their lap. So he does it ALL THE TIME. He thinks it's hilarious! I'm beginning to think that he's making sure that we never leave his side when he's playing. He does his free-falls with no warning whatsoever and never looks to see if someone is actually behind him... so we are constantly kept on our toes. This kid, I tell ya!

We played hard this week despite the teething grumpies, so here are a ton of snapshots from our week:

We hope everyone had a great week and enjoyed the Memorial Day weekend! We'll catch you all next Wednesday (on time, hopefully!).

Love,
Tam

Duncan: 32 Weeks Old

My darling little boy is 32 weeks old today! Seriously, where does the time go? He is growing so fast and doing all sorts of big kid things. What a fun week we had!

Chores were out the window this last weekend. Instead, we went out for walks, lunches, and some marina sunshine!

Lunch outside at Picnix Bistro
Gorgeous walk around The Palace of Fine Arts
Swan family at The Palace of Fine Arts
Lunch & a stroll at Crissy Field
What a great day!

Duncan is sitting and standing on his own pretty well this week. He's standing against the couch and sitting to play for longer stretches without tumbling over. He's even reaching forward or sideways for toys and then pulling himself back into sitting position today! It's as if he just decided to figure it out overnight. :)

This week, he's not eating like a starving baby dinosaur anymore (at least during lunch time). He actually gets full! And today, he decided he doesn't like bananas anymore. Hmmm... He used to love them! I guess we'll try to sneak them back into the menu in a couple weeks. Although that didn't work with avocados. ;)

The sleep schedule is awesome these days and I keep my fingers crossed that it stays that way. Duncan seems to think he doesn't need the late afternoon nap anymore so we've been adjusting to only 2 naps a day. Some days are better (i.e. less grumpy in the afternoon) than others. Otherwise, he still naps pretty well and sleeps a solid 9 to 11 hours at night. Hooray for us!!

Best baby ever these days, that Duncan. Makes awesome faces, too:

AND has no shame baring his chubby legs in a romper while playing in the jumperoo:

Hope everyone is having a great week! The wind is trying to blast us off the coast the last few days, so we are making the most of the great indoors. Duncan sends lots of hugs & kisses!

Love,
Tam

Duncan: 31 Weeks Old

Dear Duncan,

You are a strapping 31 week old baby boy today! We've had another fun but busy week. We did a lot of housecleaning, got out for a couple walks when the weather was nice, and enjoyed some time with friends. You are getting to be such a big boy! You turned 7 months old this week and your appetite is growing right along with you. You are a bottomless pit these days!! I think you might eat us out of house and home soon. :P With all the eating, you're outgrowing a lot of your onesies. Today, I put you in this super cute romper from Papa Gary & Nana Mary (your cousin Logan's grandparents!). It is SO cute! Mommy is a sucker for tractor apparel. And just look at that belly! :)

Our good friends, Andrew & Lee, came over for dinner on Friday and they brought you a super cute plush puppy from Harrod's (Lee brought it all the way from London)! You love him and we all decided to name him Bob. You sure loved playing with the guys, even though you haven't seen Lee since December! You were still fussy back then and he was so amazed at how happy you are now. :)

You're doing so great at sitting by yourself this week. Although you are sometimes still crazy about just throwing yourself backwards or sideways on a whim with complete disregard for the well-being of your head or face, you do sit and play for long stretches at a time. You still prefer being on your tummy and moving yourself around though!

You have such personality, Duncan. You crack us up everyday and keep us on our toes for sure! You're testing out your temper recently and often try to get what you want by throwing mini-fits of rage. We do our best to not give in, but you sure can be loud and persistent! :P

But most times, you are still very happy and goofy. So hopefully, the tantrums will pass soon (fingers crossed!).

Well, Mommy's gottta go make you some more food since you are going through our freezer stash like crazy now. We did discover that you don't like roast chicken and mashed potatoes, so now I'm wondering if you are really my kid. Haha! :P

Thanks for another fun week, little man. Love you more than you could ever know, Duncan. :)

Love,
Mommy
