Duncan: 46 Weeks Old

The little teether is 46 weeks old today! He got 3 more teeth this week and is still the happiest little dude! What more can you ask for? He now has 4 front upper teeth and the 2 front ones on the bottom. SO cute!

I was going to post about how his wild hair has calmed down lately but then he woke up today with another whacky side spike. Haha! Well, in all honesty, his crazy hair really has been laying down more these days since it's gotten longer. I think he's quite handsome either way. :)

We've had a great week since the sunshine decided to come back! It's back in full force, too. Today was so hot out, I was certain that I was not going to make it up our hill on the way home. But I did. And I was a sweaty mess. Duncan, however, was quite comfortable lounging in his stroller... Must be rough!

Last Saturday, we headed north out of our foggy city to satisfy a craving for Cubano and San Juan sandwiches at our fav spot (where Daddy got Duncan this awesome onesie). Man, they are SO GOOD. We took our mouth-watering to-go sandwiches to a new beach park that we accidentally discovered. When he wasn't obsessing over the stroller tires, Duncan was trying to eat all of our sweet plantains. He is such a ravenous monster all the time. LOL It was a fantastic day!

On Sunday, we enjoyed sunshine in the city with a trip to the zoo! I just love going to the zoo. We always have a yummy lunch and a fun afternoon of strolling & animal watching. Duncan was really intrigued by the hippopotamus this time. She was making all sorts of sprays and splashes in the water, so it was pretty entertaining to him! Funny enough, I took mostly pictures of Duncan and none of any zoo animals. LOL Oh well!

I guess that's a wrap for our exciting week of fun in the sun! Can you tell the boy likes the nice weather? I'll leave you with some of Duncan's Awesomely Cute Faces:

See you next week! I've got a lot of planning to get back to for Duncan's 1st birthday. It's coming up QUICK. :)

Duncan: 45 Weeks Old

My sweet little baby is 45 weeks old today!

Duncan's had another big week! He's growing up so fast. I can't even believe this busy little man was just a helpless little pooper not so many months ago. It's just been the best time of my life watching him grow and learn each and every week.

Duncan added another tooth to his collection this week! He's got one of his upper front teeth (the left one) already out, the right front is almost through, and a tooth on either side of the front two are also ready to come through. That's a lot of teeth to be getting all at once! He sure is a trooper. He's been in good spirits throughout so I didn't even know that he was teething. Well, the return of the drool does give it away. Haha!

This week also marks Duncan's successful weaning off breastmilk. He has officially stopped nursing and has moved to formula. We've been supplementing for a month and he eventually gave up nursing fairly quickly. For me, I was ready for it and am very happy that the transition was so short and sweet. No difficulties for either one of us. That's all I could ask for! I will miss that closeness we shared and am glad that we had it for so long but am also thrilled to see him happy and healthy with that giant full belly. I did my best. Now he's ready to go out and take on the world! :)

Well, if only someone would open the gate for him... Haha!

Duncan is eating such a variety of food now and seems to like just about anything we feed him. He's recently tried (several) bites of Mommy's cheeseburger & fries (don't judge!!), pork chops, pasta salad, spinach, and I made him a curried lentil, cabbage, & potato stew that he really gobbled up. He loves to have all sorts of seasonings in his food now so no more bland stuff. He's tried italian seasoning, thyme, garlic, onion, curry, cumin, and black pepper in his meals and seems to really enjoy the new flavors. :)

The weather has been crummy this week and we didn't get out as much as we wanted to. :( But we did get out on a Target run and Duncan sat in a shopping cart for the first time! He was fairly good and didn't fuss too much (thanks to Daddy feeding him Cheerios the whole time to keep him happy). He was pretty cute in that shopping cart and the ladies were all swooning over him. He didn't seem to mind that. So it seems he's getting to be more patient with shopping. Thank goodness!

We were making cheesy faces to entertain ourselves in Target, as you can see...  :)  I'm glad he can be just as goofy on his most hated errands as he is at home. He's pretty fun!

Well, it sure has been an exciting week for us even with the windy & chilly weather! Matt and I even got in a night of MarioKart. We haven't gotten to race to the death in ages it feels like!! Haha! Hopefully we'll get some sunny days soon. We need a park outing!

I'm off to enjoy more coffee, lattes, beer, wine, and sodas! Not in that order, of course. And not all in one day either. Just whenever and as much as I darn well please! Woohoo!!

Tam

Duncan: 44 Weeks Old

This smiley little boy is 44 weeks old today!

He's growing like a weed and is such a fun dude to hang out with. He's had a great week of antics and celebrated a happy 10 month day with his first trip to the zoo!

Duncan is such a goofball. He's been doing all sorts of hilarious things lately to crack us up. While he's on the changing pad getting a diaper, he likes to flip his bib up over his face and wait for us to say, "Where's Duncan? Where's Duncan?" then we flip the bib back down and say, "There he is!!" It cracks him up and cracks us up and then he flips it back up and repeats the game over and over. It's so funny! It is fantastic that he discovered this game, too, because it keeps him from trying to roll around and escape during diaper changes. :)

He also likes to laugh through his nose like he is scoffing in an unimpressed matter at something funny. It's so funny to see and here him do it and I wish that I could capture it on video but I never seem to be ready when he's doing it. He reminds me of a grumpy old man scoffing condescendingly. LOL I'll have to try to catch him on video so you can see what I'm talking about.

His hair continues to be crazy wild since it has gotten longer. The left side of his head always seems to be sticking straight up like the top of his head or out to the side while the right side lays fairly flat. I think it's the way he sleeps, but I'm not sure. It's pretty awesome though. He looks like a mad scientist!

This week, his Granddad Tony stayed with us for a couple days and he just loves his Granddad! He loved having breakfast with Granddad in the morning and showing off all of his new skills to him at night. He especially loved the Granddad fed him Cheerios one by one so he didn't have to do it himself. They are good buds. :)

Duncan also had his first trip to the zoo over the weekend and it was a lot of fun! He didn't seem to care too much for the animals (although he stared at every seagull that walked by), but he did like to watch all the people activity going on. We had lunch there and enjoyed a fun afternoon of strolling around the exhibits. I love the zoo so I was happy to finally get back to it. It's been a long time since our last visit. We'll be making many more trips there, so I'm excited about that!

We've had lots of park outings this week as well, so it's been great! Gotta take advantage of the nice weather when we can get it. :) Apparently, now that Duncan is no longer afraid to crawl through the grass, his favorite game at home is also his favorite game at the park: kicking & chasing his blue ball. It's so cute to watch him. He'll play this game forever all by himself. :)

He's been much better at playing (getting into trouble) by himself during the day so that's been very nice! I've been able to catch up on chores, photo uploads, and emails. LOL But honestly, it's a lot more fun to play with Duncan!

Wow, we had a busy week! It was loads of fun, though. :) Hope everyone had a fun week, too. We'll catch you all next week!

Love,
Tam
