Duncan: 28 Weeks Old

Dear Duncan,

You turned 28 weeks old on Wednesday, April 25th and guess what? We forgot to put up a post again! Haha! Too much fun with Ong Ba Ngoai here, we just lose track of the days! :)

Needess to say, having Ong Ba Ngoai here is the best. They cannot put you down. Mommy has to keep reminding them that you DO need some tummy time and just good old play time by yourself. But it's so cute that they just love holding you and carrying you around so much. Ong Ngoai (grandpa) grabs you up anytime he sees you playing by yourself. He thinks you're going to get lonely, even though are completely happy playing on your own most times. It's pretty cute.

They LOVE you so much! Ong Ngoai totally gets a kick out of your crazy jumperoo antics. He just cracks up whenever you get all wild! And whenever she's not cuddling you, playing with you, or making you giggle like a maniac, Ba Ngoai has been cooking up a storm for us every day and I have to say that I am in heaven. She has been making all my childhood favorites that I haven't had in a very long time. She is awesome!

And really, I don't see that you mind too much being cuddled and carried around all the time. :) Mommy doesn't know what she's going to do once they leave and you're so used to all this attention! :P

It's been such a fun week. We've gone down to Clement Street to do some shopping with Ong Ba Ngoai and you just love hanging out patiently in your stroller. You're a good little shopping buddy! You, Mommy, & Ba Ngoai also enjoy going on walks through the neighborhood or to the nearby shops on sunny days. Ba Ngoai just loves all the different kinds of trees & plants that she have never seen before. She makes Mommy take pictures of everything. Haha!

You are now eating in a high chair and it is pretty funny. You look so short in it! You are such a good eater, though. Ba Ngoai just loves feeding you. She laughs at your antics and you laugh at her laughing. You open your mouth like a baby bird and swallow down everything you're given, even if you don't like it! So cute!

You're really trying to get mobile this week! You do push-ups like crazy, turn your body in circles easily, and have started to lift up onto your knees, too! It's like you just decided one morning that you wanted to get moving!

Or course, you still love playtime with Daddy. He reads to you eery night before bedtime, which is one of my favorite things. You two play so cute together. Last weekend, you had so much fun sitting on his chest, grabbing his face, and trying to bite his nose off! You might be a little terror when you get teeth! :)

Pretty amazing week, buddy. You have been such a joy with Ong Ba Ngoai here! They are still so impressed every time you go down for a nap and at bedtime without a fuss and go to sleep without any help from us. Every time they are on the phone with someone, they are talking about what a good little baby you are, how funny your antics are, and how much you love to eat. :) Uncle Trung keeps telling them that they should have been here 5 months ago over Thanksgiving when you were still an angry baby! Haha!

We're so proud of you, punkin! We all love you more than you could ever know. :)

Love,
Mommy

Duncan: 27 Weeks Old

Dear Duncan,

Mommy forgot that we had a post to do last Wednesday! Sorry! We have been super busy playing and eating and having so much fun with Ong Ngoai & Ba Ngoai (your maternal grandparents) that we just simply forgot. :) (And we haven't been online much!)

You turned 27 weeks old on Wednesday, April 18th. What a fun week we had! We were super busy doing a lot of cleaning and shopping in preparation for Ong Ba Ngoai's arrival, so photos were few. But we did manage to find time to have lunch at the park on the weekend and wear you out on the play mat at home, so it wasn't all work and no play. :)

You had a GREAT 27th week! The best part, of course, was the arrival of Ong Ba Ngoai. You LOVE them so much! You were nothing but smiles from the moment we picked them up at the airport on Tuesday and you played, laughed, and giggled with them like crazy. They were so amazed at what a good baby you were on the car ride home. Then when we got home, they were even MORE amazed at what a good baby you are in general! They were so impressed that you just put yourself to sleep when it's nap time, eat like a champ, and go to bed at night on your own without a fuss. We were pretty darn proud of you. :)

This week:
-  We had your 6 month appointment. You weigh 17lbs 6oz, are 26.5" long,
and your head is 44cm! Huge!
-  You are in Size 3 diapers!
-  You're eating pears & peas and you love them. You do not, however,
like avocado! :) I love making foods for you!

-  You are doing push-ups like crazy all of a sudden during tummy time.
I guess you are getting gears up for crawling!

-  You started doing this funny thing when you are tired: you just roll
over to your tummy, stick your fingers in your mouth, turn your head
to the side, and collapse it head down to the floor and lay there
in your sleeping position. Playtime is done. It is hilarious!

Thanks for being such a sweet little guy, Duncan. Every week has been so much fun! I love watching you grow and discover new things. You come up with the most hilarious antics! I'm so very glad that you are getting to spend time with Ong Ba Ngoai. It warms my heart every time you break out in smiles or laughter when you see them. They adore you and I love having them here with us. The next few weeks are going to be a blast!!

Love,
Mommy

Duncan: 6 Months Old

"6" onesie made by: Bev

My sweet little boy is 6 months old today. Where did the time go?! It seems like it was just yesterday that you were wiggling around in your moses basket, doing nothing more than nursing, crying, & pooping. Well, you still do the nursing and pooping, but we've pretty much gotten the crying down to almost nil now that your acid reflux has been tackled and we've got your sleeping needs figured out. Hooray! :)

You are such a happy little guy now, Duncan. You love to smile, giggle, and laugh so much! You are constantly cracking up at silly things we do or say to you. Today, while I was trying to do these onesie photos, you were just cracking up every time I would puff up the pillows to place behind you. It was pretty cute!

Things you love to do:
-  Eating solids! You love your rice cereal, bananas, and most recently:
    pears!
-  Going for walks in the stroller. You just love to check out the scenery.
-  Reading books with Daddy. You LOVE sitting in his lap and playing with
the pages. He lets you choose the book you want by laying a few out in
front of you. You reach for "The Belly Button Book" almost every time!
    It's your favorite!
-  Sucking on your toes. Even when there are socks on your feet!
-  Playing with the Sun toy on your jumperoo. You always squeal with
delight as soon as you see it!
-  Sleeping on your belly. It doesn't matter how many times we try to flip
you over, you'll always end up in this position when you sleep. You
sleep so soundly now that I guess it works for you.
-  Suck on your thumb. Now that you've discovered it, you love it!
-  Touch our faces. You love to put your hands on either side of our faces,
giggle, and try to put your slobbery open mouth on our noses or chins.
It's gross but it makes you squeal with delight. :)
-  Try to sit without support. You're not there yet, but you do try and
it's a pretty cute wobbly mess before the eventual topple!

There's not a whole lot that you don't like these days, which is really awesome. You are such a good little baby and it's been so much fun being your Mommy. You are the light of my life, silly punkin! I love you more than you could ever know.

Love,
Mommy

Duncan: 26 Weeks Old

Another Wednesday, another week older. Tomorrow, I'll be 6 months old! Holy moly! I am getting to be such a big boy!

I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend! My awesome cousin Logan got me new books that I love to read with Daddy and my sweet Auntie Heather got me the CUTEST bunny ears hat and tail to wear for Easter. I just love those guys! Mommy went a little crazy with the photo-taking...

This week has been another great week for us! I've had some more MAJOR achievements and LOADS of fun:

1.  I'm sleeping without a swaddle now! Yup, just me, my sleep sack, and a whole lot of freedom to roll around, sleep on my belly or my side, play with my sleep-sacked feet, talk to my hands, pound my fists on the mattress, knock on the crib railing... It's endless fun! Then after about 10 or 15 minutes of endless fun, I'm fast asleep. :)

2.  I'm officially sleeping through the night! I'm pretty consistent with my schedule now, so I go to bed at 7:30pm-ish, wake up to nurse at 3:00am-ish, then I sleep until 7:30am-ish. Mommy LOVES this schedule and she is SO happy in the mornings! Even if I wake up outside of these times during the night, I'll just talk to myself or play/fuss for a little bit, then I fall back asleep. Sometimes, I guy just needs to have some alone time to figure things out, you know?

3.  I'm sucking on my thumb! I do it pretty often now, but if Mommy has the camera aimed at me, I pop that sucker right out of my mouth before she can get a photo taken. It drives her nuts. I think it's funny. :) I still like to suck on all my fingers and my entire hand still, too.

4. I had my first lunch at the park! It was a gorgeous Easter weekend, so we spent it enjoying lunch at our favorite parks. I got to eat my rice cereal while watching dogs, kids, and bicyclists go zooming by and I loved it! I was especially a hit with the ladies on Easter when I wore my bunny ears. :)

Well, if that wasn't enough fun for ya, come back tomorrow when Mommy will post my 6-month onesie photos. She is always so excited to put me in my monthly onesies! I'll probably do my best to not sit still while she tries to take pictures. It'll drive her crazy and just cracks me up! Maybe I'll make this face:

That should go over well. Haha!

Love,
Duncan
