Duncan: 20 Weeks Old

Duncan & Grandmom Debbie

Dear Duncan,

Mommy is still playing catch-up with your weekly posts so hang in there with me, peanut! :)

You turned 20 weeks old on February 29th. Time flies so fast! We were still in Colorado and your 20th week started with a trip to Fort Collins to stay with your Grandmom Debbie and Auntie Celina. It was exciting for all of us because you have never met them before!

You just LOVED playing with Auntie Celina SO much! She had a way of just cracking you up! It was pretty fun to watch you play with her, buddy. She didn't even mind when you spit up on her cute clothes! :) You also loved when Grandmom read The Very Hungry Caterpillar to you. That IS one of your favorite books after all! Grandmom fed us like kings and bought you a new Charlie Brown book that you love. Auntie Celina read it to you and you were so attentive:

You also got to meet Grandmom's new fiance, Ron. Congratulations, Grandmom & Ron! We wish you a lifetime of happiness!

You were such a good baby on our Fort Collins trip, little man. I was so proud of you. You were great on the car ride to and from and slept most of the way. Thank goodness you are used to your car seat now! That would have been a really long hour and a half... :)  The dogs, Rudy & Shelly, are crazy barkers and you handled the sudden bursts of ear-piercing noise like a pro. You are becoming a regular at adapting to new surroundings and it is a wonderful thing for all of us! So thank you!

After our stay in Ft. Collins, it was back to Denver for a couple days before we headed home to San Francisco. We tried to cram in as much time as we could with Ba Ngoai & Ong Ngoai, Auntie Heather & Uncle Trung, Logan, and baby Dustin before we had to go home. You're not going to remember it but you could not get enough of Logan's reading to you. You loved watching him as he read you books about superheroes, gorillas, and flies. Those moments were among my very favorites.

You just love your cousin so much. He's your ultimate hero, I think. :) He sure is a lot of fun to play with. He loved holding you, reading to you, and patting your head. It was pretty cute. We sure miss having him around, don't we?

The next time we see your baby cousin, Dustin, he's going to be so big! He'll probably give you a run for your money. For now, he can't reach the floor in the jumperoo yet, so you have a leg up (or down) on him.  :)

It was sure hard to say goodbye to everyone. But don't worry. We'll see everyone again later in the year, hopefully. And your Ong Ngoai and Ba Ngoai are going to come stay with us for a month or so before they head back to Vietnam. You'll like that. Mommy knows that she will!  :)

For the record, I should note that you were a complete ANGEL on the trip back to San Francisco. You were so calm and content while we returned the rental car, then took the shuttle to the airport, then sat in the airport at the gate, and you even smiled at the flight attendant while we waited for boarding to wrap up! Then you slept pretty much the entire flight with very little fussing. I wasn't even sure you were my kid!! Haha! I sure hope you're not going to demand to fly first class every time in order to cooperate for us. :)

Another awesome week, buddy. You are without a doubt a super good baby these days. The Colorado trip was such a good experience for you, as well as for Mommy & Daddy. We are now a mobile family! Yay! We love you so much, monkeyface.  :)

Love,
Mommy
