Duncan: 38 Weeks Old

This little guy turned 38 weeks old yesterday and is a mover, a shaker, & a destroyer of all things within reach! He sure keeps us on our toes!

Today, Duncan has officially been outside the womb longer than he was inside. To think, my little peanut used to be just that -- a little peanut! Haha! I hardly remember the quiet little 7lb 5oz nugget that used to do nothing but lay there and stare at us curiously...  :)

Now we get looks like this:

This week, Duncan has mastered the art of pulling himself up onto everything. He can get to his knees easily but hasn't quite gotten to his feet on his own yet. He loves his new ability and uses it often. I sense more baby-proofing in our future...

This week, he is finally eating his puffs whole. It makes it a lot easier to give them to him and less messy. But he's still very lazy about picking finger foods up on his own. Last night, he actually tried to bend his head down to the tray to get puffs with his mouth... Most of the time, he just likes to smash at them with his hands and send them flying all over the place until there are none left on the tray. But he did manage to intentionally pick up a puff and move it to his mouth successfully once this week! It was the first time ever and we were pretty excited. Then he cried for no reason. Haha! He's a silly kid. :)

I think he's going through some stranger anxiety right now. When Neela came to visit this week, he cried and cried and cried whenever she tried to hold him. He was ok with watching her from a distance but didn't like being picked up. He also started crying when we ran into our neighbors and chatted with them in the stairway. He was fine with all of these people last time he saw them, so it must just be a phase. I sure hope it passes soon!

Otherwise, he's still been a happy, giggly, playful little guy and loves to hang out with Mommy & Daddy. We sure have a lot of fun together!

Our posts for next week might be delayed since we are going on vacation! It's off to Tahoe for us on a grand adventure. It'll be Duncan's first road trip and it could turn Mommy & Daddy into heavy drinkers... Haha! I'll make sure to give you all the details when we return.
