Duncan: 31 Weeks Old

Dear Duncan,

You are a strapping 31 week old baby boy today! We've had another fun but busy week. We did a lot of housecleaning, got out for a couple walks when the weather was nice, and enjoyed some time with friends. You are getting to be such a big boy! You turned 7 months old this week and your appetite is growing right along with you. You are a bottomless pit these days!! I think you might eat us out of house and home soon. :P With all the eating, you're outgrowing a lot of your onesies. Today, I put you in this super cute romper from Papa Gary & Nana Mary (your cousin Logan's grandparents!). It is SO cute! Mommy is a sucker for tractor apparel. And just look at that belly! :)

Our good friends, Andrew & Lee, came over for dinner on Friday and they brought you a super cute plush puppy from Harrod's (Lee brought it all the way from London)! You love him and we all decided to name him Bob. You sure loved playing with the guys, even though you haven't seen Lee since December! You were still fussy back then and he was so amazed at how happy you are now. :)

You're doing so great at sitting by yourself this week. Although you are sometimes still crazy about just throwing yourself backwards or sideways on a whim with complete disregard for the well-being of your head or face, you do sit and play for long stretches at a time. You still prefer being on your tummy and moving yourself around though!

You have such personality, Duncan. You crack us up everyday and keep us on our toes for sure! You're testing out your temper recently and often try to get what you want by throwing mini-fits of rage. We do our best to not give in, but you sure can be loud and persistent! :P

But most times, you are still very happy and goofy. So hopefully, the tantrums will pass soon (fingers crossed!).

Well, Mommy's gottta go make you some more food since you are going through our freezer stash like crazy now. We did discover that you don't like roast chicken and mashed potatoes, so now I'm wondering if you are really my kid. Haha! :P

Thanks for another fun week, little man. Love you more than you could ever know, Duncan. :)

Love,
Mommy

Duncan: 7 Months Old

"7" onesie made by: Auntie Celina

My little dude is 7 months old today! The last month has just flown by so fast. You are such a character, Duncan. At 7 months, you definitely have some personality complete with lots of goofiness most times and a hot temper sometimes. When you are happy, you are endless bouts of giggles and chatter. When you are upset about something, you are very huffy and puffy. I wonder where you got that from...

Your hair is awesome. Everyone comments on your cool head of spiky hair and we can't get enough of it. Ba Ngoai said that your hair looks EXACTLY like mine when I was your age. That's pretty darn cute if you ask me! She tells me to brush it down so it'll lay flat and I continue to blatantly ignore her. :)

Things you are doing right now:
-  Being clingy. Ever since Ong Ba Ngoai left, you have been clingy.
I blame them for spoiling you. :P
-  Being very mobile! You get around pretty good for not crawling!
You roll, scoot, turn, and twist all over the play mat!
-  Eat like a champ! You are a bottomless pit!!
-  Love to check out the care tags on your toys. You inspect them so
closely when you find one. It's so cute!
-  Love to smile with a scrunched up face if you like something. :)
-  Love drinking water from your sippy cup. You do get lazy about
holding it by yourself, though. You like for us to hold it to your
    mouth for you. So spoiled...
-  You are sleeping so well! Sometimes you sleep for 10 or 11 hours
    at night! Pretty awesome.
-  You are a wiggle worm! You cannot sit still. Especially if you are
happy or excited about something. It was ridiculous trying to get
you to sit still for these onesie photos let alone get a clear shot while
you were smiling... Luckily, you kind of zoned out for a bit so I could
    take a few decent shots.

I sure love being your Mommy, little mohawk man. You're the light of my life and I wouldn't trade you for anything, although I've told some people that I'd consider a trade for a unicorn... Haha! Love you more than you could ever know, Duncan.

Love,
Mommy

Duncan: 30 Weeks Old

Dear Duncan,

You are 30 weeks old today! It sure has been going by so fast. Before we know it, our little baby is going to be a mobile moving wrecking machine. Good grief! How can you be 30 weeks already?!

This week was filled with more fun, some sight-seeing, and lots of sadness as your Ong Ba Ngoai headed back to Vietnam on Monday night. It was SO hard to say goodbye to them and they were SO sad to be leaving us, especially you. They loved playing with you and holding you every day. It was so wonderful having them here with us! We are really going to miss them. :(

I hope they will be back to visit again soon and I hope that you remember how much they adore you. Mommy can't remember how many times she had to remind them that you do need to be set down to play at least SOME time during the day. :) It was so fun to watch you give them your biggest smiles and loudest squeals of delight every single day. I think you adored them as much as they did you!

This week, you are doing a lot of moving around! You go from tummy to hands & knees easily and love to do it all the time. You scoot, turn, spin, and roll yourself all over your play mat. You also started rocking back and forth now when you are on your hands and knees. I think crawling is coming soon! I hope we're ready...  :P

Then, when you are finished playing and moving about, you simply collapse in a heap to let me know that you are ready to go take a nap:

This week:
-  Your awesome hair is getting super long on top! It's hilarious!
-  You LOVE butternut squash, apples, & Korean pears!
-  You slept for 10 hrs at night for the first time ever. So awesome!
-  You rode in your stroller without the car seat for the first time.
You seemed to like it alright, until a lady came to say hi to you and
    you started crying. :P
-  You've tried to get yourself to sitting position from hands & knees
a couple times. Keep it up, buddy!
-  You fussed a lot on the way to the airport to drop off Ong Ba Ngoai.
I think you didn't want them to go. And it was very late. :P

Thanks for another fun week, little man! It's just us this week, but we've got our favorite London buddies coming to see us on Friday. Should be a blast! Love you more than you could ever know, punkin.

Mommy

Duncan: 29 Weeks Old

Dear Duncan,

You are 29 weeks old today and crazy as all get-out! :) You've been scrunching up your face when you smile this week and it's the cutest! You have such a funny personality already and it has been so much fun watching you interact with your grandparents. You sure love having them here to play with you everyday!

They sure enjoy being apart of all these awesome milestones you're reaching. It's been an awesome week for all of us!

You are an awesome eater, buddy! You chow down everything you're given. Even if you don't like something, you still swallow it down with a disgusted face then open your mouth for the next spoonful. It's pretty cool and funny! :) You've tried zucchini and turkey this week. You love the zucchini! The turkey, not so much:

Other fun things you've been doing this week:

-  You finally remembered how to roll from tummy to back again. You
figured out that it gets you from point A to B very quickly. Now you
do it all the time! Yay!
-  You've learned that your stacking cups can be played with in multiple
ways. You like to roll them and watch them roll back to you. And you
like to hold one in each hand & smash them together super loud!
-  You sometimes making "umm umm" sounds after every bite during a
    meal. It's cute!
-  You are learning that reaching your arms out towards someone will
get that person to pick you up. If that person doesn't pick you up,
you tend to get really angry. This is not fun, but it's still something
    you've learned. :P
-  Snapping the elastic on your pants so that it hits your diaper bottom
cracks you up! You laugh so hard!
-  You're moving toys from one hand to the other all the time now. You've
got some good hand eye coordination, for sure!
-  You say "Ba" a lot, which is cute because it's Vietnamese for "Dad."
Daddy is pretty happy about that!
-  You are using a sippy cup! You still need to figure out how to tip it up
on your own to get water, but with just a little help, you really love
    drinking from it!

You are such a character, Duncan. Your endless array of funny faces just crack us up! Not to mention that your hair is totally AWESOME!

You are an absolute joy, my little Duncan. I'm so glad that you're grandparents have had this time with you. It's been so fun for all of us! You are the BEST little dude. Thanks for being so good. Love you more than you could ever know, buddy.

Love,
Mommy
